Aim: To see if raising the light intensity increases the rate of photosynthesis.

Low light intensity lowers the rate of photosynthesis

The rate of photosynthesis is also affected by limiting factors.
How can this be applied in the real world?
(a process where water bodies receive excess nutrients that stimulate a bloom of algae)
Plants produce oxygen at a limited pace
Controls phytoplankton and moss.

Factors affecting the rate of photosynthesis.

Prediction:I predict that raising the light intensity will increase the rate of photosynthesis.

These same older generation emitters, controller technology & drivers are the reason I did not recommend LEDs of ANY brand for "higher-end" aquarium applications until 2008 (readers of this VERY constantly evolving article in 2007 would note this too).
However NOW we have many reef/planted aquarium capable LED lights and the only thing that separates most are bells & whistles, cost, efficiency of energy input to output, colors one might desire (albeit not necessarily what the photosynthetic life is more efficient utilizing), water proofing/resistance, and warranty. Even in cost, often the other factors will override an initially low cost of many popular LED fixtures.

Though eventually how ever high the height intensity is the rate of photosynthesis will level off.

Results obtained from experiment : "Investigating if light intensity
effects the rate of photosynthesis in an aquatic plant."

As mentioned previously, the results I have obtained from the
experiment will be of measured in 5 intervals, ranging from 0cm
-100cm, 1 repeat reading taken as well as an original reading & an
average of the 2 results calculated.

How does light intensity affect the Rate of Photosynthesis?

affects the rate of photosynthesis by comparing ..

My reasons for believing my results are reliable & accurate are
firstly, they agree with the theory behind the rate of photosynthesis
when light intensity is increased, secondly the result which I gained
compared accurately to my prediction, which was well thought out
before it was made, and finally the results I gained for my final
experiment differed so much to the results of my preliminary procedure
which was very inaccurate.

Furthermore, I predict that if the light intensity increases, the rate of photosynthesis will increase at a proportional rate and more oxygen will be produced and therefore the oxygen levels will increase.

I can say that the
increase in distance thus making the light intensity stronger
increased the rate of photosynthesis and when further away made the
rate of photosynthesis almost come to its limiting factor the

While similar, it is clear to see the LED has more blue and a lower blue NM (fuller blue spectrum) amount as well as more red, less green, and the same yellow.

The point this makes/demonstrates is that while both lights are rated as 6500K, they are still not the same in their light energy output. Even among LED lights we can have differences of spectrographs depending upon emitters used.
Think about how mixing all paint colors will produce black, while the mixing of all light energy produces white. We as humans may notice this to some degree, however we do not have the ability to pick out particular colors such as a honey bee can. As well, photosynthetic aquatic life also has differing abilities to pick out the needed light energy for life processes and even though the PAR readings may be equal, the light energy that provides this overall PAR or kelvin "color" is NOT.
